How to Play

If you've played Wordle, you already know the rules. Pick a word length and start guessing — you get one more try than the word is long (5 tries for 4 letters, up to 9 tries for 8 letters), so longer words come with a little extra room. After each guess, every tile is colored to show how close you got: cyan means the letter is correct and in the right spot, magenta means the letter is in the word but in the wrong spot, and gray means the letter isn't in the word at all. Use the on-screen keyboard or your own to type each guess.

Infinite Wordle, Not Just One a Day

Unlike Wordle's one-puzzle-a-day format, this is infinite mode — play as many rounds as you want, whenever you want, at 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 letters. Your progress on each length is saved automatically, so you can switch lengths mid-game and pick up right where you left off.

A Wordle for Every Length

Classic Wordle is always 5 letters. Here you can play the length that suits your mood:

• 4 letters — a quicker, easier warm-up round, 5 tries.
• 5 letters — the classic Wordle length everyone knows, 6 tries.
• 6 letters — a step up in difficulty with more letters to track, 7 tries.
• 7 letters — a real test for experienced Wordle players, 8 tries.
• 8 letters — the toughest mode, with the most letters to place, 9 tries.

Challenge a Friend

Finish a round and hit Challenge a Friend to generate a link. Anyone who opens it plays the exact same word you just did — a quick way to compare guess counts and settle who's the better word-game player.
