Frequently Asked Questions

How do you play the Word Grid game?

A board of random letters sits in front of you, and your job is to find the words hidden in it. Drag through adjacent tiles - diagonals count - or just type the word, but you can't reuse a tile within the same word. And watch for the "Qu" tile: it covers both letters in one move.

What are the different grid sizes and game modes?

Three sizes: a quick 3x3, the classic 4x4, or a roomier, tougher 5x5. Then pick your pace - Timed mode if you like racing the clock, Relaxed if you'd rather hunt words with no pressure.

How do you score points in Word Grid?

The longer the word, the better. Three- and four-letter finds earn a point, while words of eight or more letters can pull in up to 11. Your best score for each grid size is kept, so there's always a target to beat.

Can I use hints if I can't find any more words?

You can. Hints start gentle - a starting tile, then a partial path - and only escalate to showing you the whole word if you keep asking. Fair warning though: revealed words are worth zero points. Only the ones you find yourself count.

Can I challenge a friend to the same word grid puzzle?

Sure thing. Finish a round, hit Challenge a Friend, and share the link - anyone who opens it gets the same grid, and you can compare final scores.
