Overview

SolveWordGames ("we," "us," or "this site") does not require an account, sign-up, or login for any feature. This policy explains what limited data the site does handle, how cookies and advertising work here, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Game progress and statistics (such as your Guess the Word win streak) are stored using your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device — it is never transmitted to us or stored on a server, and we have no way to see it. Clearing your browser data or using a different browser or device will reset it.

We do not require or collect names, email addresses, or account credentials for any core feature of the site.

Cookies & Advertising

This site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense and its advertising partners. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites, which helps them show ads that may be more relevant. When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or decline optional analytics and non-essential cookies. If you accept, we use PostHog and Vercel Web Analytics to understand page visits, game usage, and errors so we can improve the site. Analytics does not load before you accept. If you decline or later withdraw consent, analytics capture is disabled. You can change your choice at any time using the "Manage Cookie Preferences" link in the site footer.

Word Definition Lookups

Selecting a definition or dictionary-powered clue sends that single word to the Free Dictionary API (dictionaryapi.dev), a third-party service we don't operate. In WordHive, if that service has no entry for the word, the same request is retried against Datamuse (api.datamuse.com), a second third-party service we also don't operate. As with any request your browser makes to another site, whichever service is contacted receives your IP address and browser user-agent along with the word. We don't send them anything else — no identifier, no game history, and nothing that links one lookup to another.

This request happens only when you actively select a control such as "View definition," "See definition," or a dictionary-powered clue. Opening a word-profile page, browsing, and searching send nothing to either service. It is not covered by the cookie banner, because it isn't analytics or advertising — it is how the requested definition feature works. If you would rather not contact these services, don't use those controls; every other feature works without them. Their handling of the request is governed by their own policies.

Children's Privacy

SolveWordGames is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
