Frequently Asked Questions
How do you play the WordHive game?
WordHive hands you seven letters arranged in a ring, with one in the middle highlighted. Build words of four or more letters from those seven - reusing letters is fine - but every word has to include that center letter.
How does scoring and the pangram bonus work?
Four-letter words are worth a point; anything longer is worth a point per letter. Find a "pangram" - a word that uses all seven letters - and you pocket a bonus 7 points. Your total decides your rank, from Starter up to Hive Legend.
Are there hints if I get stuck finding words?
Plenty, and using them costs points instead of being locked behind a difficulty setting. Structural Scan shows how many words are left by length and starting letters. Pangram Ping and Decrypter both reveal letters plus a definition for specific words - Pangram Ping targets the pangram first, Decrypter works through every word you're missing one at a time. Find a hinted word yourself and it scores at half value.
Is there a time limit or daily restriction?
No clock at all. Take as long as you like - your progress saves as you go, so you can close the tab and come back to the same puzzle later. And there's no daily cap or account, so play as many free rounds as you want.
Can I share a puzzle and challenge a friend?
Yep. Hit Challenge a Friend whenever you want and you'll get a link to pass around. Anyone who opens it plays the same seven letters, and you can compare scores and ranks afterwards.
