How the Word Finder & Unscrambler Works
Type the letters you have available into the search box — order doesn't matter, so "taers" and "stare" return exactly the same matches. The solver checks every entry in our 240,000+ word list — 2 to 12 letters — and keeps only the words that can be built from your letters. Don't know a letter? Use ? or * as a stand-in for any blank tile, wildcard, or unknown letter.
Narrowing Down Results
A short rack can return hundreds of matches. Open Refinement Options to filter by Starts With, Ends With, Must Include, or Exclude letters — handy when you already know part of the answer, like a green letter in Wordle or a pattern from a crossword clue. Switch to the Common Words dictionary to hide obscure entries and see only everyday vocabulary.

What word games can I use this for?
Scrabble, Words With Friends, Wordle, Wordscapes, Wordfeud, Word Cookies, TextTwist, and pretty much any game or puzzle that hands you a set of letters to work with.
What's the difference between ? and *?
Nothing — both represent an unknown letter and can be used interchangeably. Add one for every blank tile or unknown letter you have.
Why do I need to enter at least 2 letters?
A single letter matches far too many words to be useful. Two letters is enough for an exact 2-letter word search — pad out a short rack with a wildcard if you need to.
All Words vs. Common Words — which should I use?
All Words covers the full 2–12 letter dictionary, including less familiar entries that are still valid in Scrabble-style games. Common Words is a smaller, curated list of everyday 4–8 letter vocabulary — switch to it when you want plays you'll actually recognize (for 2–3 or 9+ letter searches, stick with All Words).
