How to enter a pattern
Enter exactly five characters. Put every confirmed letter in its known position and use ? or * for each unknown letter. For example, C?A?E finds words with C first, A third, and E last.
Refining your candidates
Use Starts with or Ends with when you know a sequence but have not placed it in the pattern. Must include requires letters anywhere in the word; repeat a letter there when two copies are required. Exclude letters removes words containing any of those letters.
Tips for narrowing the list
Add your most certain positional letters first, then exclude letters you have ruled out. If the result list is empty, replace an uncertain letter with a wildcard or remove one refinement at a time. Common candidates are shown before less familiar words.
